The Faculty of Medicine provides healthcare and healthcare products via three types of center:

1. There are two Medicine Service Centers, a primary care unit located in Mahasarakham University’s Khamriang District campus, and Mahasarakham University Hospital located in the Muang District campus. Both centers offer services in modern medicine.
2. There is also an Applied Thai Traditional Medicine Service Center, which provides traditional health care services such as Thai massage and approved herbal products. This is located in the Muang District campus.
3. Lastly, there is a Medicine and Herbal Products Producing Center. This center has two functions.  It produces traditional herbal medicines for national distribution, and serves as a training workshop for Applied Thai Traditional Medicine students.  The center is located in the Muang District campus.

The Faculty of Medicine is research-active in various areas of applied, social, and clinical science.  Through these activities, the faculty helps to protect community health and promote the sustainable use of community resources such as food and medicinal plants.  The faculty is also engaged in projects of national and international importance such as evidence-based allocation of healthcare resources, and identification of risk and protective factors for infectious and neurological diseases.  By publishing this work, the faculty is helping to solve important health problems and elevate Mahasarakham University through the world university rankings.
